58 children squealed with delight upong entering the newly renovated playground at Growing Tree Early Learning Center. They were sharing rides on the see-saw, taking turns going down the slide on the new playscape, and running and jumping - just being kids!
Phase One of the Growing Tree Early Learning Center playground renovation has been completed. Located in Hartford's Asylym Hill neighborhood, the Center serves inner-city low income families and is one of three early learning programs operated by the YWCA. Through our early learning and before and after school care programs the YWCA serves 500 children weekly.
The renovations implemented thus far have been made possible through generous support of Ellen Jeanne Goldfarb Charitable Trust, The Hartford, Maximilian E & Marion O. Hoffman Foundation, The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachussetts, Simon/Aaron Hollander Fund and contributions from individual donors and staff members and Board of Directors of the YWCA.
